Welcome to the home of the 2009 Maritime Cup
The Maritime Cup - A match play event for the players run by the players. Nova Scotia
vs New Brunswick vs Prince Edward Island. The Maritime Cup began in 2000 with Nova Scotia hosting
New Brunswick in a match play event similiar to the Ryder Cup. In 2001 Prince Edward Island also competed in the event and
the provinces and format have stayed the same since. In 2007 the competition was hosted once again by Nova
Scotia at the beautiful and scenic Northuberland Links in Pugwash. Great play by the New Brunswick allowed them
to defend their hold on the Maritime Cup.
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND WINS 1ST MARITIME CUP (September 2008) This
years event was held at the beautifuul Summerside Golf & Country Club in Summerside, PEI. Team P.E.I. came out with
a quick start ending the first day of play with a total of 12.5 points against Nova Scotia's 7.5 points and New Brunswick
with 7 points. Sunday turned out to be a dogfight between P.E.I. and N.S with the Nova Scotians winning many of the
early matches. P.E.I. held strong down the streatch and John Schurman won it for the Islanders when we made a 40 foot
putt on the final hole to halve his match with New Brunswick and win the half point that was the tournament winner.
The final point totals were PEI - 24, NS - 23.5 and NB - 15.5. It was a great weekend of golf and camaraderie for all
involved. Thank you to all the sponsors for the tournament and Summerside G & CC for hosting the event
